Statement regarding the future hiring of facilities at Community House

22nd January 2021

< Back to news

The Council has become aware of the need to clarify the position regarding the future hiring of facilities at Community House, which is currently closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic regulations.

At the Council’s Civic & Community Events Committee meeting on the 19th January, it was agreed and stated that the Council is unable to make any decisions until Community House is once again fully operational. When Community House is open again and we are able to receive regular bookings, we can then make the decisions regarding markets and all other hirings.

At the moment we can only take every day as it comes. In the interim, there is nothing more that the staff or Councillors can do. We do understand how frustrating and worrying this is for our hirers and we look forward to being able to reopen Community House and returning to some normality.
